Stoke Poges Singers are seeking a Music Director
Stoke Poges Singers are seeking applications for the role of Music Director to take up the position from September 2025.
Formed in 1971 we have been a community choir for over five decades. Unfortunately, due to a move out of the area our current Music Director of 9 years, Andy Langley, will be leaving us after our Summer Concert in July.
Stoke Poges Singers are a registered charity, and we perform three concerts per year with all proceeds going to various charities nominated by members.
As a friendly SATB choir with around 35 members, we sing a variety of music including modern and classical choral works, songs from the shows, arrangements of pop songs and others. Our music programmes are discussed and agreed by committee primarily based on advice from the MD as well as suggestions from members.
We perform in various local venues, and have recently been supported by organ, jazz trio and small orchestra.
Our motto is “Singing for Pleasure”, and we do not require potential members to audition.
We are accompanied by a superb pianist.
We rehearse on Thursday evenings during school term times from 7.45 pm to 9.45 pm at St Andrews Church Hall, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.
Please contact us by responding in the first instance to chair@stokepogessingers.org.uk when we will be happy to share further information.
Applications close on 31st March 2025.
